Our client, a leading provider of speech therapy services to clients in the US and UK, is seeking a dedicated Remote Speech Therapist to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
Conduct virtual speech and language therapy assessments for clients across different age groups.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in alignment with clients' goals and needs.
Provide direct therapy services to clients via teletherapy platforms such as TheraPlatform, Medbridge, or similar.
Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support.
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Ensure compliance with US and UK regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR standards.
Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation and progress reports.
Participate in virtual IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings and contribute to goal setting for students.
Provide guidance and supervision to Speech Therapy Assistants as needed.
Stay informed about industry advancements and best practices in remote speech therapy.
Job requirements
Skills Required
Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills for various speech and language disorders.
Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR) such as TheraPlatform, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage clients and their families remotely.
Ability to adapt therapy techniques to suit virtual environments effectively.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle a diverse caseload across different time zones.
Experience with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices.
Collaborative mindset to work with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
Cultural competence in working with international clients from diverse backgrounds.
Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges in remote therapy settings.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a remote or teletherapy setting advantageous.
Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or equivalent.
Experience working with pediatric and/or adult clients in a school or clinical setting.
Strong internet connectivity and a professional home office setup suitable for remote sessions.
Willingness to work flexible hours aligned with US/UK time zones.
Knowledge of US/UK educational frameworks and therapy models is advantageous.
Familiarity with compliance requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative remote team.
